Construction pit in Aarhus, Denmark

In the heart of Aarhus on Nørrebrogade, we carried out construction pits and excavation for new homes and a parking garage for the developer C-Bolig A/S.

Nordisk Fundering has had all its skills at play and it is always exciting to establish construction pits to a great depth in the middle of the big cities when there are older multi-storey buildings up the construction pit.

In the initial phase, our close dialogue with the client has resulted in the selection of an economically advantageous foundation solution, at the same time that we have taken into account surrounding buildings, water penetration and installation methods.

Nordisk Fundering carried out the project as a main contract, including the design of all geotechnical constructions, both temporary and permanent, as well as permanent gewi piles and a permanent secant wall which will support part of the building. All related earthwork, which consisted of excavation to the final depth, was carried out in collaboration with the company Enkon as subcontractor.

The project went according to plan and the solutions that were chosen during the collaboration have worked as intended. The undertaking was delivered within the agreed price and time.
