Geotechnical boreholes

Nordisk Fundering offers geotechnical drilling as an essential part of our design and engineering process for construction projects. Geotechnical drilling gives us the opportunity to be involved from the start, when soil samples and data on the properties of the soil must be assessed, so that together we can develop the most effective and safe foundation solution for your construction project.

A secure foundation

When you have secured your foundation correctly, it is not visible. But saving on soil surveys and advice before starting a search can become an unpleasant, visible, and expensive affair.

Get the correct soil analysis

We carry out geotechnical drilling in 6-12″, corresponding to diameters between 75 and 320 mm, and depths varying in relation to the soil conditions.

During drilling, we collect intact soil samples from different depths to analyze the composition of the soil and its physical and mechanical properties, including bearing capacity, permeability and deformation properties.

Next, the overall data analysis is passed on to the client, or it is processed by our own engineers, if you wish.

Quality is important

Here at Nordisk Fundering, we ensure that the quality is top notch, as it is crucial that boreholes are lined all the way to the bottom of the hole. That gives the best result in terms of analyzing the samples. In this way, the correct assessment of low limits is ensured. It is important to all of us that our employees have the right experience and skills for the task.

Environmental screening

Before you start digging, it is important to find out if your soil is contaminated or not. We offer environmental screening, which ensures the determination of the pollution classes, so that the excavation of your project proceeds correctly.

Get answers to your questions

Here you can read the answers to some of the questions we are often asked.

What is the purpose of a geotechnical borehole?

The purpose of a geotechnical drilling is to investigate the soil conditions and determine the composition and properties of the soil, so that the most suitable type of foundation can be determined for a project.

When is a geotechnical drilling necessary?

A geotechnical borehole is necessary when constructing a building or other structure on land where it is important to have a clear understanding of the soil conditions in order to determine the most appropriate type of foundation.

How does geotechnical drilling affect the environment?

A geotechnical drilling can cause temporary disturbance to the soil and the surrounding environment. It is therefore important to ensure that the drilling work is carried out in a safe and sustainable manner. We always use casing and lining all the way to the bottom of the borehole.
